Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the revival of the Southern Railway Newsletter on the occasion of the Independence Day.

This Newsletter, which will be brought out thrice a year, is aimed at keeping us informed of the work being done and the fruits of our efforts. I hope that the revival of the Newsletter will bring the Railway family closer, with each of us being more aware of the activities of our colleagues working in other areas on this Railway.

The Newsletter is an attempt to bring to light the initiatives, achievements and tireless efforts of thousands of railway men and women who have contributed to the growth and success of this vast public service organisation. We must also not forget the contributions of those who have worked before us. If we can see further today, it is because we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead.

The success of this newsletter will depend on its reach and relevance. I hope we can continue to improve upon it and use it as yet another means of communicating with each other. As we share, we learn. I look forward to contributions from members of all departments.
